Level-up your career with the AI & ML technical skills, leadership and portfolio needed to land top jobs at leading companies.
Our world faces unprecedented challenges, and software is the medium that will drive solutions across most domains — from health, finance, and cleantech to government — and AI/ML will multiply that impact.
To meet this moment, it calls for a new kind of technologist — the modern software engineer who is the bridge between people, society, and technology. Folks who can decide where, when, and how to wield AI/ML responsibly to solve today’s problems.
This intensive, 4-week program is designed to empower mid-to-senior-level software engineers wanting to take their careers to the next level.
Packing months of learning into an intensive three-part program, you'll deep dive into technical and advanced industry content that will level up your career.
You’ll join a cohort of top engineers to learn together in a series of lectures, workshops, and collaborative coding sessions enabling you to take on leadership roles in AI-driven projects.
Using Codesmith’s method of teaching, you’ll go ‘under the hood’ of technical models to build foundational understanding, then implement that knowledge by building impactful, original open source projects.
Explore key AI/ML concepts such as LLMs, embeddings, RAG, fine-tuning, and MLOps. Then apply them in an open source project.
Deep dive into applying AI/ML in real-world settings and leadership in AI.
Gain insights from from industry-leading AI & ML experts who have developed cutting-edge software and products.
Complete the application form to provide all necessary information about yourself to be considered for the program. As soon as we receive your application, it will be carefully reviewed by our team.
After your application is reviewed, qualified candidates will be invited to an interview with our team. This interview is an opportunity to discuss your goals, experience, and fit for the program.
After the interview, you’ll be notified of your application status. If accepted, you'll receive a welcome pack with all the information required to support your journey with us and next steps.
Codesmith is building a new generation of engineers — folks who know when, where, and how to wield AI/ML responsibly to solve society’s complex challenges”

Engineering Instructor @ Codesmith
Jared is an instructor at Codesmith, teaching full-stack software engineering. With experience in healthcare and social science data models, as well as tool development for model evaluation and interpretation, he has a background in both academic research and practical engineering.
Ph.D. & CTO, Former Director of Technology @ Arena Analytics
Emily Kearney, Ph.D., is dedicated to solving global challenges through AI and engineering, leading collaborative teams across sectors. Her work spans AI-driven projects, from improving online communities and predictive insights to mentoring data scientists and advancing ecological conservation.
Codesmith’s approach has always been to give you under-the-hood foundations of topics, then remove the guard rails steadily through the program until you’re building original contributions to the tech field.
The program originated in the Data Science ML research group led and created in 2021 by Alex Zai — former ML lead at Amazon and author of Deep Reinforcement Learning — an AI technique using deep neural networks & feedback-driven learning. Alex also worked on Apache MXNet, an open source deep learning software.
Residents from Codesmith’s Data Science & ML group contributed to TensorFlow.js by creating advanced preprocessing layers and browser-level deep learning, enabling computer vision applications. This improved industry-standard tooling for ML and innovation in web-based AI development.
By integrating technical know-how, hands-on projects, and community for continuous learning, this 4-week program ensures that you are well-equipped to navigate the complexities of modern AI applications and drive impact in your organization.
Flexible payment plans are offered to make the program more accessible, allowing you to spread the cost for your investment over 3 months.
* As the content in Part 1: Foundational Technical Skills is also now covered in the Software Engineering Immersive, all alumni who completed the Software Engineering Immersive will receive Part 1 at no charge, along with a discounted rate for the rest of the program.
If you are a Software Engineering Immersive alum, a limited number of scholarships are available based on your engagement with the Codesmith community. This is to ensure accessibility and support to those dedicated to advancing their careers in AI & ML. These are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
